Weather data is advisory, not authoritative
The information provided by Smarter Weather LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) on this website, in our consumer applications, and through our APIs and Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers is for general informational purposes only. Weather is inherently uncertain; observations, forecasts, and model output may be incomplete, delayed, inaccurate, or wrong. While we strive to provide accurate and up-to-date information, we make no warranties or representations regarding the accuracy, suitability, timeliness, or reliability of any data or Service we provide. Any reliance you place on such information is strictly at your own risk.
Not a substitute for official life-safety warnings
Smarter Weather is not an authoritative source for severe-weather warnings. Always defer to the National Weather Service (weather.gov) and your local emergency management authorities for decisions affecting life and safety. Do not rely on the Service, its data, or its alerts as your sole source of information during severe weather events, aviation, marine, wildfire, or other life-safety-critical scenarios.
Developer responsibility
Developers who build products or services on top of the Smarter Weather APIs or MCP servers accept the same disclaimers on behalf of their end users, and are additionally responsible for:
- clearly communicating to their end users that weather data is advisory and not a substitute for official warnings;
- preserving upstream attribution (for example, NOAA, NWS, and OpenStreetMap) in end-user-facing products, per our Acknowledgements;
- not deploying the Service in life-safety-critical contexts (including but not limited to aviation dispatch, marine navigation, emergency dispatch, automated evacuation decisions, or medical or industrial control systems) without independent verification against authoritative sources and a documented fallback;
- complying with the Developer Terms at /developers/terms and the Acceptable Use Policy at /developers/acceptable-use.
Limitation of liability
In no event shall Smarter Weather LLC be liable for any loss or damage including, without limitation, indirect or consequential loss or damage, or any loss or damage whatsoever arising from loss of data or profits arising out of, or in connection with, the use of this website, our applications, our APIs, our MCP servers, or the information provided.
